CHARLES JOHN GONZALEZ was born in Los Angeles, CA on 20 Sep 1912 to Manuel H. and Peary (Couey) Gonzalez. Manuel was a native of Spain and Pearl was native to Wisconsin. Charles (1912-1975) was the second of four children born to his parents. His siblings were Manuel "Manny," who was a naval aviator and was killed in action at Pearl Harbor (1911-1941), Robert Raymond (1914-1992), and little sister Selma who died at age 4 after contracting Diphtheria (1916-1920). Charles married Frances M. Whitaker about 1935. They were the parents of two daughters; Marilyn Frances (1936-2018) and Barbara Jean (1940-?).

He leaves his widow, Frances of Paradise; two daughters, Barbara Ciochetti of Hayward, Marilyn Consentino of San Francisco; one brother, Bob Gonzalez of Paradise; and four grandchildren.
