---Hazel S. Thompson, 89, of Macon, formerly of La Plata, died Tuesday evening (March 28, 1989) at 8:30 at Kirksville Osteopathic Medical Center.
---Born March 22, 1900 in Adair County, she was the daughter of Phillip Sheridan and Effie Mae Bragg Shumaker. On August 31, 1935 in Macon, she married Lawrence Thompson, who preceded her in death on February 27, 1985. Also preceding her in death were one great-grandson, three sisters, and four brothers.
---Surviving are one son, Phillip G. "Barney" Thompson of Macon; one daughter, Shirley C. Harms of East Moline, Illinois; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Edith Rose and Leota Strom of Flint, Michigan.
---Mrs. Thompson and her husband lived on a farm east of La Plata until 1960, when they moved to La Plata and then to Macon in 1985. She was a member of the Christian Church.
---Funeral services were held Friday afternoon (March 31, 1989) at 1:30 at Pollock Funeral Chapel in La Plata with the Rev. Keith Hanson, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Macon, officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Grove cemetery near Gifford.
---Bearers were Wilbur Dean Thompson, G.A. Thompson, Larry Douglass Johnson, Gary Eugene Johnson, Neil Wiggans and Kenneth Calvin Johnson.
