Freddie was born and raised at Clonoony in the Drummully Parish of County Monaghan. She went to nursing school in Scotland (Elgin) and was in London, England in 1934 prior to emigrating to South Africa in 1936. There, she was a nurse at the Far East Rand Hospital in Springs, Gauteng. Causes of death include Lobar Pneumonia and Peripheral Vascular Disease.
