Doris Youngblood Spikes passed away February 9, 2023 at the age of 83. Doris loved music, especially bluegrass and gospel. Some of her favorite times were spent singing with her husband, Lynn and the many musicians who were more like family than friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister and a prayer warrior. She was a member of The Pentecostal Church of DeQuincy.
She is survived by her husband, Lynn Spikes; children, Dewey Hargrove and wife, Shelia; Rev. D. G. Hargrove and wife, Becky, Rev. Danny Ray Hargrove and wife, Angela, David Hargrove and wife, Allissa, Jeffri Spikes and wife, Nichole and Jerilyn Kendall and husband Corey; 13 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Minnie Cross and husband, John, June Lawson, Diane Chandler and Linda Sue Youngblood.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George Dewey Youngblood and Ora Cripps Youngblood and sisters, Dolly Tate, Joyce Mahoney and brother, David Youngblood.
The family will receive friends 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, February 10, 2023 and the funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 11, 2023. The visitation and funeral service will be held at Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 1810 West Fourth Street, DeQuincy, Louisiana. Pastor Wayne Neyland will officiate. Interment will follow at Riley Smith Memorial Park, DeQuincy, Louisiana.
