Anna Claudean Melton Smith Piper
Funeral service for Mrs. Wayne Piper, 49, of 130 Vale, a Dallas resident for 25 years, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ at Roby with her nephew Richard Melton officiating. Burial will be in Roby City Cemetery under direction of Weathersbee Funeral Home.
The former Claudean "Dean" Melton was born April 9, 1920 in Fisher County. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Roby and graduated from Roby High School. On January 4, 1945, Dean and Rueben R."Smitty" Smith were marred in Dallas. He preceded her in death on September 13, 1956. Mrs. Piper, 49, died during a visit to Saginaw, Michigan.
Mrs.Piper is also preceded in death by her parents Clay Melton and Annie Melton, and a brother Guy Melton of Roby.
Survivors: Husband, Wayne Piper of the home; a son, Jack Melton Smith of Saginaw; a stepdaughter, Miss Linda Smith of Dallas; two brothers, Dick Melton and Arlon Melton; four sisters, Mrs.Fila Campbell, Mrs. Eula Feagan, Mrs. Ola McGinnis, and Mrs.Ora Bennett, all of Roby.
