MOTHER, BABE DIE IN 2 DAYS
Twice within two days death has visited the home of John F. Kreis, 246 Bruce st., claiming the infant son, John Francis Kreis, Jr., on Monday and his wife, Mrs. Bertha B. Kreis, 23, yesterday afternoon. Friday afternoon the mother and son will be buried side by side in Woodlawn Cemetery after double funeral services. The baby was born in Crouse-Irving Hospital March 1, while his mother was in a serious condition. Mrs. Kreis had been Ill for a year and failed to recuperate after the birth of her child. The baby died Monday afternoon, his mother not knowing of his death when she succumbed yesterday afternoon. Born in Dewitt, Mrs. Kreis has been a resident of Syracuse for 16 years. She is survived by her husband; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Fehlmann; three brothers, Herman Jr., John and William Fehlmann, and five sisters, Mrs. Leroy Coan, Mrs. Glenn C. Leader, Mrs. Leon Costello, Mrs. Albert Thompson and Miss Anna Fehlmann. Both bodies were removed to the home by A. C. Schumacher, undertaker, yesterday. Funeral services will be conducted there at 1:30 o'clock Friday afternoon, with Rev. John Wittekind, pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church, officiating.
