OBITUARY for Willetta Lovejoy

Lovejoy, Mrs. Willetta Greene, transitioned to her heavenly home on October 3, 2013. Willetta was born March 7, 1933 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was a faithful member until death at Old Ship A.M.E. Zion Church. Willetta was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School and Alabama State University. She was a dedicated, professional teacher with the Montgomery County School System for 34 years having trained and touched many lives.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sampson Lovejoy. She is survived by her loving children, Marjorie (Herman) Veal, Yorkville, Illinois, Janet (Ray) Williams, Peachtree City, Georgia, Darrell M. Greene, Montgomery, Alabama; four grandchildren, Jamil Howard, Brooklyn, New York; Raven Williams, Atlanta, Georgia, Desiree Williams, Newport News, Virginia, and Darrell W. Greene, Honoraville, Alabama; two brothers, George Charles (Maggie) Johnson and Bernard Johnson and one sister, Thelma Johnson, all of Montgomery, Alabama.

Homecoming Celebration service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at Noon, at Old Ship A.M.E. Zion Church, 483 Holcombe Street, Montgomery, Alabama. Burial will be held at Greenwood and Serenity Memorial Gardens, immediately after service. Visitation will be held, Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Ross-Clayton Funeral Home at 1412 Adams Ave.; Montgomery, Alabama.
