OBITUARY for Sampson Lovejoy

LOVEJOY, Sampson (Sonny), was born April 19, 1938 to the late Louise Lovejoy and Colonel Lovejoy in Montgomery, AL. Sampson was called home January 8, 2003. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at Old Ship A.M.E. Zion Church at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Kathy McFadden officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery with Lee's Funeral Home Directing.

He leaves his devoted wife, Willetta Lovejoy, his soul mate and the love of his life, to mourn and cherish his memories. Sampson's life will also be cherished by his loving father Colonel Lovejoy; his children, Marjorie (Herman) Veal, Joliet, IL, Janet (Ray) Williams, Atlanta, GA, Darrell M. Greene of Montgomery, Carla and Kenneth Lovejoy, both of Alexandria, VA and Anita (Keith) Rogers, Selma, AL; six devoted grandchildren, Jamil Howard, Joliet, IL, Raven and Desiree Williams, Atlanta, GA, Darrell W. Greene (Honoraville, AL), and Shemekia and Keisha Rogers, Selma, AL; a mother-in-law, Ethel Mae Johnson; sister-in-laws, Eddie Mae Massey, Detroit, MI, Thelma Johnson of Montgomery; brother-in-laws, George (Maggie) Johnson, Edward Johnson, Bernard Johnson, all of Montgomery, AL.

Sampson will also be remembered by a devoted cousin, Jerelene Savage "Susie" Thomas and other relatives, the Watson, Laster and Felder families. The family would also like to thank Dr. Krothapalli and his staff at the DCS Dialysis Center.
