Margaret was a daughter of Jacob Brodrecht (1817-1867) and Anna Syvilla Rueffer (b. ~1819). A German church record indicates that Margaret was born in the Alsfeld district of Hessen, Germany, on December 31, 1847. (See note below). The Brodrecht family immigrated to Canada around 1850--the parents and four children were entered into the 1851 Census of Canada West as residents of Wilmot Township,

Margaret married Jacob S. Boehmer on April 5, 1863, in New Hamburg, Ontario. Their children were:
- Jacob B. (1863-1934)
- William (1865-1925)
- Wilhelmina (1866-1935)
- Henrietta, named Anna Dona in a birth record (1869-1925)
- Charlotte Mary Ann "Mary" (1872- 1873)
- Frederick Cedron (1873-1958))
- Joseph Edward (1874-1951)
- Albert (1875-1898)
- Violet (1878-1929)
- Henry B. (1880-1952)
- Pervilla Syvera "Pearl" (1882-1979)

After husband Jacob's death, Margaret married William S. Anderson, a widower, on September 22, 1915, in Bright, Ontario. He died there on April 16, 1917.

Margaret died on April 17, 1924. She was buried beside her first husband in Riverside Cemetery, New Hamburg.Note: In the 1901 Census of Canada, Margaret's date of birth is given as December 31, 1849, and a death record shows January 1, 1846. Generally, Margaret's age in various censuses indicates that the 1847 birth year is correct.
