Edwin "Pop" McDowell, 93, of Asheville, died Friday, October 24, 2003, at the Hospice Solace Center.
Mr. McDowell was born in Brunswick County and was a son of
the late Joseph and Susie Reynolds McDowell. He was preceded in death by his wife Catherine Pressley
McDowell, who died in 1989, and by four brothers and two sisters.
He was retired from American Enka and was a member of Bent Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, a son, four grandsons, five great-grandchildren who were the love of his life and special people whom he loved dearly.
In addition he is survived by seven sisters, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
