Writa Inez Kitchen of Lubbock was born Oct. 10, 1912, in Erath County, to the late George Edward and Bertha Rebecca (Kiker) Allen. She was a homemaker and Charter Member of Northside Church of Christ.

Writa passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2008, at the age of 95 years, 4 months and 7 days. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leonard Thomas, in June 1968; her second husband, Ray Kitchens, Feb. 7, 1986; and three sons, Rayford Thomas, J.L. Thomas, and Guy Kitchen.

She is survived by three daughters, Lela and husband Thomas Lewis of Lubbock, Opal Willson of Witchita Falls, Ruth and husband Dick Madison of Amarillo, and Betsy and husband Donald Barnes of California; two sons, Kenneth and wife Martha Thomas of Lubbock, and Dwight and wife Barbara Thomas of Wolfforth; 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Wilsons' Funeral Directors Chapel in Wolfforth with Rev. Paul Lively of Bellaire Baptist Church officiating. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Wilsons' Funeral Directors Cemetery under the care of Wilsons' Funeral Directors of Wolfforth
