Goldia Edith Garland was born July 11, 1899 in Miami County, Indiana. She was the daughter of George Andrew Garland and Susan Weaver. She married James William Calhoun on July 6, 1918 in Saint Joseph, Berrien County, Michigan. James and Goldia were the parents of seven children: Clara E., Susie V., James William, Jr., Jack A., Ruth Ann, Carol L. and Linda L. Goldia died on November 23, 1985 in Plymouth, Marshall County, Indiana and was buried on November 26, 1985.

Goldie E. CALHOUN, 86, Monterey, died at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Holy Cross Parkview Hospital, Plymouth, after a long illness.

She was born July 11, 1899 at Peru to George and Susan WEAVER GARLAND. She had lived in the Monterey area most of her life. She was married July 6, 1918 at St. Joseph, Mich., to James W. CALHOUN, who survives.

Surviving with husband are five daughters, Mrs. Orville (Clara) LARGE, Zephyrhills, Fla.; Mrs. Lowell (Susie) REINHOLD and Carol KELSEY, both of Monterey; Mrs. John (Ruth) BOWERSOX, Leiters Ford, and Mrs. Denzil (Linda) BAKER, Phoenix, Ariz.; two sons, James and Jack [CALHOUN], both of New Carlisle; twenty-one grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson. Four grandchildren, two sisters and five brothers preceded in death.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Bonine Funeral Home, Culver, with the Rev. Robert HANSEN officiating. Burial will be in the Monterey I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Friends may call today until 9 p.m., and on Tuesday until time of services. Memorials may be made to the Heart Fund.
