CHURCH LEADER OF CRESCENT,
91, SUCCUMBS
Crescent (Special) - Albert George Brown, 91, well known Crescent farmer and active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, died Wednesday at 12:15 p.m. in a Salt Lake rest home of causes incident to age.
A son (of) Jonathan and Sarah Couzins Brown, he was born Dec. 13, 1859 in South Cottonwood. He completed a mission for the LDS church in the northern states in 1902.
Mr. Brown married Hannah Thompson April 24, 1881, in the Manti LDS temple. She died in 1934.
An active church worker, Mr. Brown served in the bishopric of Crescent LDS ward. He was a Sunday school teacher and secretary and served as president of the ward's Young Men's Mutual Improvement Assn. several years.
Survivors include six daughters and one son: Mrs. Lovina Harrison, Mrs. Ethel B. Kemp, Mrs. Grace B. Johnson and Charles Brown, Crescent; Mrs. Della B. Kone, Magna; Mrs. Retta B. Lancaster, Smoot, Wyo., and Mrs. Mabel Shipley, San Diego, Cal.; 27 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in Crescent LDS ward chapel by Hyrum Hardcastle, bishop. Friends may call at 2350 E. 13th South Friday from 4 to 8:30 p.m. and at the residence of a daughter, Mrs. Ethel B. Kemp, 106th South State, Saturday prior to funeral. Burial will be in Crescent cemetery.
