Alex Anderson, 77, of Leavenworth, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007, at his home. He was born May 10, 1930, in Tyler, Texas, the son of Alex and Mattie (Taylor) Anderson. He served in the Air Force.
On June 24, 1989 he married Eva Mae Moore in Leavenworth, she survives at the home. He is also survived by his children, Lucille Wilson, Juanita (Lewis) Williams, Patricia Whitley, Thomas (Tammy) Anderson Harlan Anderson, Dollie (Clifford) Robinson, Gloria (John) Childs, Alex Anderson Jr., Neva James, Valerie Anderson, and Audry Anderson; his aunt, Nellie Miles; 22 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; his step children, Marie (Vernon) Cook, Janice (Ronald) Washington, James (Jamie) Smith, Barry (Brenda) Smith and Deborah Patway; a close family friend, Lillie Johnson; his sisters in-law, Janice Williams, Mary McClue, and Margie Bearden; a brother in-law Walter Moore; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Alex was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Winifred Patterson; his aunt, Essie May Taylor; and his uncle, LeRoy Taylor.
Alex was a member of Sunflower Missionary Baptist Church for over 40 years, where he had served as trustee and usher.
