Procopio Valdez and Vicenta Dominguez were married November 21, 1885 in San Rafael, New Mexico. He was the son of Desiderio Valdes and Antonia Garcia and she was the daughter of Donaciano Dominguez and Maria Feliz Ortega. The Witness were Donaciano Lobato and Cristina Perea. Officiating the ceremony was J.B. Brun. Eventually they moved to Gallup, New Mexico. They lived on 4th St. and Coal. There is an auto part store at this present day there now. Procopio had a Butcher shop selling meat to the community. Vicenta's home was a place that people would stop to visit and eat. Vicenta and daugther Romona who later died would go to the Stage Hotel and pick up linen to wash and iron for $1.50 a week. Vicenta would buy water for wshing clothes for 25 cents a barrel from the Santa Fe Railroad. Tony, thier son states that Vecinta was a very nice but controlling women. She always was trying to get Procopio to be doing something or to be talking. She was a very distinquishing looking women. Vicenta had very dark curly hair.
