LUCAS: Philip E. Schuttera, 86, passed away November 9, 2022, just six weeks following the loss of his beloved wife of 67 years, Margie D. Schuttera. Their daughters are comforted knowing they are reunited together in heaven with their son Scott.

Philip was born February 2, 1936 in Mansfield to parents John and Elizabeth (Birmelin) Schuttera. Following in his father's footsteps, Philip worked as a meat cutter. It was while working at a local grocery that Philip caught the attention of Margie, and the couple was married March 4, 1955.

A hard worker, Philip was only known to have missed a day or two of work his entire career spanning over 40 years including Sternbaum's, T&A and Foodtown.

Philip and Margie were faithful members of Englewood United Methodist Church in Florida, where they volunteered in the kitchen side by side for all fellowship events. Philip knew his way around the kitchen, and enjoyed making family dinners on his days off of work.

Philip was skilled in throwing horseshoes, and later a serious competitor in corn hole. He loved camping and fishing at Mifflin Lake, Lake Erie and spending time outdoors cutting wood. A dedicated family man, he enjoyed spoiling his children, and was blessed with a huge smile accompanied by contagious laughter.

Philip is survived by daughters Brenda (Zack) Heinberger, and Sheree (Bob) Brown; 10 grandchildren and their families including spouses, great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild, along with nieces, nephews and extended family.

Along with his parents, and beloved Margie, he is preceded by in death a son Scott Schuttera and siblings Barbara, John and Richard.

Friends may call Monday, November 14, 2022 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11 am. Celebrant Dave Roberts will speak and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
