DANIEL B. FREEMAN

Daniel B. Freeman, son of Lewis and Martha Freeman, was born in Appanoose county, Iowa, December 20, 1857, and departed his life at his home in Warren county, May 21, 1916, at the age of 58 years, 5 months and 1 day, after an illnes of six months. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. E. W. Curtis, of this city, were held at the Union church at Newbern on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Newbern cemetery.

Daniel Freeman was married to Miss Hattie B. Hughes in Appanoose county on November 7th, 1880 where they lived until 1885, when they moved to the home in Warren county where the family has since resided. Six children were born to them one daughter dying in infancy. Those living are Harley Edwin, Hazel Jane Stansberry, Mary Ethel, Jesse Pearl and Elizabeth Fern. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, five children, six grandchildren, his aged mother, Mrs. Martha Sharp, three sisters, Mrs. Alice Penwell, Mrs. Anna Brennan, Mrs. Hattie Brown, and one brother Will, also a half sister, Mrs. Jos. Hendrickson, and a host of other relatives and friends.

His immediate relatives were all present at the time of his death except his bother and one sister. He was a good husband and a kind loving father, and will be sadly missed in the home and in the community where he resided..

A loving one from us has gone
A voice we love is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled..
