MRS. MARGARET HENDRICKSON

Miss Margaret Jane Freeman was born near Decatur, Ill., on September
11, 1846, and died on June 2, 1926, at Chariton, Iowa. At the age of about 8
years she came with her parents to Iowa City, Iowa, where they made their home for several years. She was married to James K. Loan on June 13, 1865
and they made their home near Lacona and later on a farm north of Chariton.

Six children were born to them. Two daughters preceded their mother to the
better land. One daughter, Mrs. Riley Smith, of Clearmont, Mo., and one son Thomas L. Loan, of Clarinda, are here for the funeral. The other two daughters are Mrs. Sam Hall, of near Chariton, and Mrs. Nellie Martin, who
has been caring for her mother the past seven years. She also leaves a step-mother, Mrs. Martha Sharp, who is 80 years old, and three step-sisters, Mrs. Alice Penwell of near Lacona; Anna Brennan, of Denver, Colorado; and Mrs. Homer Brown, of Lacona.

She was converted and united with the First Baptist Church at Iowa City when she was a young girl. She was a devoted wife and mother, beloved by all who knew her and her death will be mourned by a large circle of friends. Funeral services took place today at the home on North Main street, and Rev. J. A. Riggs, of the Chariton Baptist Church, was in charge of the service. Burial took place at the Brownlee cemetery.
