Paul Petro, Hudson Farmer, Dies in Denver

Paul Petro, a county resident for 50 years, died early Tuesday morning at Mercy Hospital in Denver. He was 72.
Mr. Petro, whose farmhouse was just outside of Hudson, had been taken to Denver for surgery about two weeks ago.
He had been in poor health for several years, but was still farming until his most recent illness.
Mr. Petro was born in Czechoslovakia Aug 28, 1885. As a youth he came to the United States and settled in Denver.
He married Mary Bodnar there on Jan 7 1906. Three years later they moved to what is now Hudson.
He worked in the old Indian mine on the Reservation for some time, and later went into the farming business.
Mrs. Petro died Nov 8 1950.
Mr. Petro is survived by five daughters: Mary Petro, Emma Stossel and Mabel Vinich, all of Hudson; Jeanette Farlow of Lander and Elizabeth Applehans of Riverton.
Three sons also survive. They are George Petro of Glendale, Calif., Paul Jr. of Rock Springs and John, of Hudson.
Twenty-five grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services are pending, with Payne Funeral Home in charge. The rites will be at the Church of the Ascension (Catholic), at Hudson.
