Mrs. Joy Opal Brown, 57, died at 7 a.m. Monday, in the Brooks Army Hospital, San Antonio, Texas. She had been in failing health for the past three years.
She was born Dec. 29, 1912, in Loco, and moved to Chickasha in 1931 where she had been employed by Grace's Truck Stop for five years and the White Dot Cafe for over eleven years.
Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Clebern Monroe Brown on March 30, 1965, and a daughter, Mrs. Bonnie King on May 13, 1969.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Betty McDaniel, Blythe, Calif., and one son, Earl Brown of Tacoma, Wash., four brothers: Troy Wilson, Kingsville, Tex., Bill Wilson, San Antonio, Tex., Johnie Wilson, Witchita Falls, Tex., and Tommie Wilson, Loco; five sisters: Mrs. Bertie Pruitt, Albuquerque, N.M., Mrs. Janie Corbin, Denver, Colo., Mrs. Dorothy Lewing, Albuquerque, Mrs. Addie Wilson, Mesa, Ariz., and Miss Wionia Wilson, Stockton, Calif.; 15 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday in the chapel of the Sevier Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Velma Cemetery.
