John J. Johnson, Woodworth, who farms three miles northeast of Woodworth, died suddenly while unloading hay on his farm Saturday afternoon when he suffered a stroke of apoplexy.

Mr. Johnson was born at Morden, Manitoba, Canada, February 5, 1882. he attended school in Rhineland, Manitoba, Canada and came to North Dakota in 1904 and took up a homestead in Gerber township, 12 miles northwest of Woodworth. He moved to his present farm in 1919. Mr. Johnson was active in township and school affairs for many years and held a number of offices. He was a member of the Medina Seventh-day Adventist church. Mr. Johnson and Miss Annie Voth were married in 1907 and she died in 1913. Mr. Johnson and Mary Warkentine wee married in 1916 and she died in 1950 and June 30, 1953 Mr. Johnson and Helen Remple were married.

Surviving are his widow and nine children, three stepsons, Winipeg, Canada; 17 grandchildren, two brothers, William F. and Jacob F. Johnson, both of Shafter, Calif.
