Carolyn Lou Hudson Bishop, fiercely loyal and loving matriarch of the Bishop family, took her last breath next to her devoted husband, Tex Bishop, on October 3rd, 2022 at the Spring View Hospital in Lebanon at 8:57 a.m.

She spent her 80 years of life in Washington County, Kentucky. She was born on May 4, 1942 to the late Charles Edward and Nora Cathryn Milburn Hudson.

She was someone to everyone. Wife, mom, grammy, sister, friend, honorary mom and grammy to many. The list goes on. She was loved by not just her family but by the community of Springfield.

She was God-fearing and often referred to as a "Proverbs 31 woman." She loved the Lord and her church family. This is evident in how she treated people and how she gave her time to The River of Life Church, where she was an active member.

Her family knows this is not the end of Carolyn's story. Rather , it is the start of her final eternal chapter with our Father in heaven, the chapter that she pursued with dedication, and the chapter that she prepared her family and friends for by setting the path for them to follow. She truly was a spiritual inspiration and the definition of a Christian. Her legacy will live on through the lives of her family and friends.

Preceding her in death was a grandson, William Brandon Carpenter; two sisters, Jessie Florence Hudson and Helen Hudson Brady and two brothers, Jimmy Dewayne Hudson and Edward Hudson.

Carolyn is remembered and loved by a multitude of family members including her husband of 63 years, Tex Bishop; three daughters, Debbie Wheatley, Sandy Carpenter (Joe) and Sharon Shuler all of Springfield; two sons, Terry Bishop (Patricia) of Springfield and Steven Bishop (Stephanie) of Cumming, Georgia; fifteen grandchildren, Joshua Wheatley (Brooke), Nicole Arnold (Jimmy), Brian Carpenter (Christa), Stephanie Ennis (Jon), Matthew Carpenter, Tara Curtsinger (Alan), Patrick Bishop, Jennifer Short (Justin), Robert Lewis (Emmalee), Lily Bishop, Finnegan Bishop, Darcy Bishop, Rory Bishop, Brittany Lyons (Craig) and Jacob Shuler (Samantha); fifteen great grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Derringer and Rita Yaste of Springfield and Nancy Montgomery (Ronnie) of Shepherdsville and two brothers, David Hudson and Bobby Hudson of Springfield.

Her life will be celebrated at the River of Life Church with the funeral service held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, October 6th with Rev. Troy Shelton, officiating. He will be assisted by Rev. J.W. Hatfield.

Carolyn's body will be laid to rest on Cemetery Hill.
