Tex Carlton Bishop, devoted husband, loving father, and patriarch of the Bishop family, reunited with his beloved wife of 63 years, Carolyn, in the early morning hours of January 11th, 2023 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Kentucky.
He spent his 85 years of life in Washington County, Kentucky and was born on July 19, 1937 to the late Mattie Blanche Young Bishop. Preceding him in death was his wife, Carolyn Lou Hudson Bishop; a grandson, William Brandon Carpenter; a sister, Mary Ada Russell and five brothers, Leroy Bishop, Marshall Bishop, Jack Bishop, Elbert Bishop and Reco Bishop. Tex is remembered and loved by a multitude of family members including three daughters, two sons, fifteen grandchildren, ; fifteen great grandchildren and two brothers. His life will be celebrated with both the visitation and funeral at the River of Life Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 Monday, January 16th and the funeral will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday with visitation starting at 8:00 a.m., and he will be assisted by Rev. Mac Marye. Tex's body will be laid to rest on Cemetery Hill.
