Milton Todd Aul, age 67, died peacefully in his sleep on 1 September, 2022. He had fought a lengthy battle with kidney disease which became even more difficult after the premature passing of his sweetheart and wife – Crystaline Peel Aul in 2020, whom he has missed very much. In addition to Criss, Milton was preceded in death by both parents – Duane Aul and Clarcia Ione Gillespie Aul and one sister – Deborah Gail Aul (Pearce).
Milton is survived by 7 siblings: Gloria Lee Aul (Hatch), Linda Jean Aul (Peterman), Lincoln Duane Aul, Marilyn Aul (Willis), LaRee Aul (Godfrey), Tami Aul (Slade) and Beth Aul (Holden); and his
6 children: Tricialyn Aul (Apolinar), LaRee Aul (Scott), Kaylene Aul (Allen), Lisa Aul (Burden), Alan Todd Aul and Robert Milton Aul and twelve grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews.
In 1975 Milton served a two-year mission to Uruguay/Paraguay for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and loved every minute of it. He became fluent in Spanish and maintained his fluency for life, using it every chance he could. He later served as Bishop of his ward in Kingman, AZ and loved that opportunity. After his mission, Milton attended Ricks College where he met and fell in love with his wife Crystaline. He also used his considerable talents by singing in the Messiah while at Ricks. He had a wonderful tenor singing voice and loved singing the oldies and listening to the Carpenters and Josh Grobin.
Milton was known to be a practical joker and had a quick wit, throwing out well placed humorous 'zingers' right up to the end. Milton loved baking, milkshakes, board games and the gospel of Jesus Christ. He had hoped to open his own bakery someday. He loved, even treasured time with family, sometimes going far out of his way to be with them. In addition, he was very kind hearted and as a teenage boy; very considerate of his little sisters and their needs. After years of practice he perfected speaking as Donald Duck by age 14. He used this skill to get his younger sisters to cater to him a bit. All in good fun, of course. His grandchildren knew him for his Donald Duck voice. On the other hand, his Donald Duck voice was sometimes a source of embarrassment for Lincoln, but even he says Milton was good enough to BE the voice of Donald for Disney. When it came to board games, he was very good at them and was a self-proclaimed rules expert for all games. He loved to be the winner!
A born baker, Milton loved to share his skills with as many people as possible. He never made just a single batch of cookies, preferring to make 30 or even 70 dozen so he could share far and wide. A third-generation baker, he treasured the recipes handed down from his ancestors and baked in his very own home bakery with commercial equipment. Milton was also well known for making delicious breads and donuts, and his family always looked forward to his butterflake rolls at Thanksgiving. He was known for being good, funny and completely trustworthy. One of his Gillespie cousins says he was never mean and as a teen, the other boys behaved better when he was around.
There will be a viewing at 10:00 a.m. Friday 23 September at the Silver Creek Mortuary located at 745 Paper Mill Road, Taylor, AZ 85939.This will be followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. the same day at the Mike Ramsey Memorial Cemetery, located at 390 south 4th west in Snowflake, AZ 85937. Following the graveside service a luncheon for family and friends will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Lovelake Chapel - 301 Lovelake Rd. Taylor, AZ 85939.
