Only daughter of Arthur GILES, Schoolmaster, Sydney Grammar School, and his wife Ann Minna MACKELLAR.

She was married firstly, at Port Said, Egypt, March 1917, to her second cousin John Mackellar CHISHOLM, 6th Australian Light Horse; they were divorced in 1929.
Marjory was married secondly, in Adelaide, South Australia, 1932, to Norman Henry PRENDERGAST, Lieutenant-Colonel, Indian Army, and they went to live in Marden, India; they had retired to Hertfordshire by 1946; he died in Somerset in 1950.
By her first marriage, she had two sons, whom she transferred to schools in England in 1935:
1. John Henry Mackellar CHISHOLM, born in Sydney, 7 January 1918; went to England in 1935; Squadron Leader, 157 Squadron, R.A.F.; he was killed in action in air-operations over north-west Europe, 16 September 1944 [Runnymead Memorial].
2. Wallace Mackellar CHISHOLM, born in Sydney, 22 April 1919; went to England in 1935; Sandhurst; Captain, Indian Army, 1942.
