It is with great sadness that the family of Myrtle Mae McNeilly announces her peaceful passing, which occurred February 17, 2016, at her residence in Venice, Florida, with her daughter by her side. Myrtle was the wife of the late Paul Thomas McNeilly. She was born September 4, 1926, in LaSalle, Illinois, to Alvina (Jordan) and Charles Vernon Smith, the firstborn of their ten children.
Myrtle was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by her three children, Paul R. (Patricia), Winfield, IL; Sandy Ausra (David), Edwardsburg, MI; and Kent (Rose), Hampton, NB, Canada; as well as her three granddaughters, Michele, Andrea, and Shannon, and her seven great-grandchildren, her sister Arlene and brother Curt, her sister-in-law Judy, along with several nieces and nephews, other family members, friends and neighbors.
Over the course of Myrtle's illustrious 89 years, she enjoyed many activities and interests, some of which included water skiing/boating, entertaining, ballroom dancing, mothering, cooking/feeding, etc. She also enjoyed working with and helping others, which lead to her volunteering with numerous community groups and donating to various charitable organizations.
A celebration of life memorial will be held at a later date, details to be announced.
