Former chef at the Hudson River State Hospital for 17 years, Abram Christiana, 50, who resided at 76 Taylor Avenue for more than 27 years, died Dec. 28, 1954, in the Samuel and Nettie Bowne Hospital. He had entered the hospital for treatment yesterday afternoon.

Mr. Christiana had retired in 1947, because of ill health.

Born in High Falls Oct. 3, 1904, Mr. Christiana was the son of the late Charles and Amelia Decker Christiana. He was educated in schools in High Falls. A member of Hedding Methodist Church, here, Mr. Christiana also was a member of the Young America Hose Co. and of the Exempt Fireman's Association.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Mastin Christiana; a son, Edward Christiana, here; two daughters, Mrs. Florence King and Mrs. Barbara Gallagher, here; two sisters, Mrs. Jennie Werher, here, and Mrs. Flora Calvin, Napanoch; and a brother, William Christiana, Hartford, Conn.

Funeral services, to which relatives and friends are invited, will be held Friday from his late home, 76 Taylor Avenue, at 2:30 p.m. Interment in the family plot, Union Cemetery, Hyde Park, N. Y.

Relatives and friends may call at the home Thursday evening from 7 to 10 p.m. Funeral arrangements are in charge of George A. MacKennan.
