A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Hawkins was a machinist and grinder at the former Schatz Federal Bearings Co. in Poughkeepsie. She retired in 1971.
She was a member of Community Methodist Church, where she was active with many committees, and also a volunteer at the Vassar Warner Home and Vassar Brothers Hospital.
Born Feb. 20, 1908, in Wappingers Falls, she was the daughter of George C. Mastin and Adelaide Brower Mastin.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Abram Christiana, on Dec. 28, 1954, and her second husband, Joseph Hawkins, on Aug. 26, 1990.
Surviving are two daughters, Barbara Gallagher and Florence King, both of Poughkeepsie; three sisters, Joan Smith of Hyde Park, Ruth Barker of Stafford Springs, Conn. and Hazel Dorsey of Mechanicville, Saratoga County; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by a son, Edward Christiana.
Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the William G. Miller and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 59 Montgomery St., Poughkeepsie.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in the family plot in Union Cemetery, Hyde Park.
