Mrs. Hilda L. Parsons, 97, formerly of South Third Ave., Ilion, most recently of Mohawk Valley Nursing Home, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2008, at the nursing home. She was born on January 16, 1911, in West Winfield, daughter of the late Clarence and Mary (Lane) Edick. Her marriage to Miles A. Parsons took place on July 4, 1932, in Deposit. He passed away on April 8, 1986. She was a homemaker for many years. Hilda was a member of the AARP and in her spare time enjoyed cooking. Survivors include her son, David Parsons and wife, Jean, of Bluff City, Tennessee; son-in-law, Donald Bunce, of Columbia; a sister, Dorothy Davies, of Sauquoit; her grandchildren, Scott Bunce and wife, Angel, Sandra Goforth and husband, Larry, Brenda Murphy and husband, Tim, and Judy McCluskey; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a sister-in-law, Margaret Edick, of West Winfield; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces and great-nephews, including a special niece, Marie Dennison, of Ilion, and a special nephew, Bob Edick, of Herkimer; and her close friends, Julie Lane and Jean Laventure. She was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Robert, Stanley, Glen and Sherman Edick, Marion Dennison, Evelyn Edick and Louise Edick. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home, 102 West St., Ilion, on Monday, February 4, 2008, from 12-1 p.m. and invited to attend her funeral service commencing at 1 p.m. on Monday afternoon in the funeral home with the Rev. Debra Wollaber officiating. Spring interment will be held in Mt. View Memorial Gardens, Town of Little Falls. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff affiliated with both the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home's third floor and Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare for the tender love and care. Memorial offerings may be made to the Mohawk Valley Nursing Home; envelopes will be available at the funeral parlor.
