CHEALN – Alice M. Greenway, 55, Chelan, died Tuesday evening at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee.
She was born Alice M. Knievel on April 13, 1923, at Las Vegas, N. Mex. She spent her early childhood there until the family moved to Santa Fe and the Albuquerque, NM.
On April 27, 1942, she married John Greenway at Santa Fe, NM. Following their marriage they lived in Bremerton until 1949 when they moved to Las Vegas, NM. They moved to Chelan in 1956, where Mrs. Greenway had been seasonally employed with North Country Fruit and Blue Chelan.
She was a member of Lake Chelan Lutheran Church, was president of Creative Crafts Club of Chelan, and was a member of Lake Chelan Arts and Crafts.
Surviving are her husband, John, at home; a son, Jerry, Chelan; two daughters, Julie Merchant and Annette Lenz, both of Chelan; her father, Jack Knievel, Alamosa, Colo; a sister, Barbara Stevens, Houston, Texas; two brothers, Dale Knievel, Jackson, Tenn. And Tom Knievel, Howard, Colo.; and five grandchildren. Mrs. Greenway was preceded in death by her mother, a sister and a granddaughter.
Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan, is in charge of arrangements.
