LaRue Grace Morris, 87, of Memphis, MO, died July 4, 2005 at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis, MO. She was born December 20, 1917, at Brock, MO, to Reuben F. and Grace Southmayd Hyde. She attended Brock School. She married James H. (Jim) Morris on July 29, 1950 at her parents’ home in the Brock community. He preceded her in death in 1988. LaRue worked for the Sheaffers Pen Company in Fort Madison, IA for several years and was a homemaker and helped her husband run their farming operation near Brock. She was a member of the Methodist Church in Brock for many years and more recently transferred her membership to the Methodist Church in Memphis, MO. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of her flowers. She is survived by two sons, Steve Morris and his wife, Joan of Memphis, MO, and Dick Morris and his wife, Twila of Columbia, MO; three grandsons, Todd Morris, Tim Morris and Aaron Morris; two great-grandchildren and a daughter-in-law, Gladine Morris. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Arthur Hyde; and three sisters, Phoebe Bull, Bessie Aylward and Erma Hyde. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 7, at 1:30 p.m. at the Memphis United Methodist Church with the Reverend Terry Lippstreu officiating. Ann Luther or Connie Courtney will accompany Reverend Lippstreu. Burial will be in the Brock Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Denny Hyde, Stanley Eggleston, Roger Riebel, Delmar Martin, Curvin Dean Martin, Stanley Humphrey and Doug Freburg. Honorary bearers will be Freddie Henderson, Curvin Martin, John Aylward, Stanley Bull, Vaughn Biggs, Phil Aylward and Robert W. Shelley. Memorials may be made to the Brock Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home, Memphis, MO.
