Erma Hyde Services Held at Brock
Erma Marie Hyde, daughter of Rueben and Grace Southmayd Hyde was born November 23, 1911 in Scotland County, Missouri in t he Brock community. She departed this life on Monday, September 6, 1965 after a short illness in the Davis County Hospital, Bloomfield, Iowa at the age of 53 years, 9 months, and 14 days. She was preceded in death by her father and mother. She leaves to mourn her passing, one brother, Arthur Hyde and wife, Teresa; three sisters, Phoebe Bull and husband Buford; Bessie Alyward and husband Jesse; LaRue Morris and husband Jim, all of Memphis; two nephews Arthur Hyde, Jr. and Steven Morris; two nieces, Mrs. Arlene Rutledge and Mrs. Norma Woods; four great nephews one great niece; two uncles, Fred Southmayd and Roy Southmayd; and a number of cousins and host of friends. She devoted her life to caring for the sick and her greatest desire was to give herself in service to others. She confessed to Christ as her Saviour and united with the Brock Methodist Church at an early age. She remained a member of the Brock Church until the time of her death, but attended the Memphis Methodist Church after moving to Memphis a few years prior to her passing. She was always a loyal and faithful worker for her church where ever she lived. She will be sadly missed by all her family and friends and her deeds of love and kindness will a ways be remembered. Services were held from the Brock Methodist Church on Wed nesday, September 8, at 2:30 p.m. Clergyman Rev. Frank Barnett and Rev. Frederick Lawson were in charge. Burial in Brock Cemetery. Body bearers were Li onel Henderson, Hollis Hyde, Harry Robinson, Dick Hyde, Virgil Hyde, and Glen Hyde.
