Isaac Heck, was the tenth of eleven children born to Jacob and Mary Mikesell Heck. On March 1, 1855, in Shelby County, Indiana, he was married to Margaret Yo(h)e. They lived in Shelby and White Counties in Indiana, before moving to Pettis County, Missouri in 1875. They farmed in Washington Township, near Green Ridge for many years. He died at the home of his son, J. A. Heck. Isaac and Margaret had nine children but only four lived to adulthood. Their first three children died and are buried in Shelby County and two children died in White County. The other four were James Alva Heck, Joseph Henry Heck, Eliza Malinda Looney and Nina Catherine Proctor Day, all of Pettis County.
