Mrs. Ruben R. "Bennie" Bacon
SHREVEPORT - Services for Mrs. R. R. "Bennie" Bacon, 95, of Shreveport will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 1988 at Kings Highway Christian Church. Officiating will be Dr. Bobby W. Cook. Burial will be at Forest Park Cemetery, under the direction of Osborn Funeral Home.
Family visitation will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday.
Mrs. Bacon died Thursday, September 22, 1988 at Willis Knighton Medical Center. She was born November 21, 1892 in Start, La., she was a charter member of the Shreveport Orchid Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Ruben R. Bacon and her son Robert Armond Bacon.
She is survived by one son, Benjamin Edward Bacon Sr. of Shreveport; four grandchildren, Karen Bacon Fisher, Benjamin Edward Bacon Jr., Michael Patrick Bacon, Robert Paul Armond Bacon of Shreveport; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. W.A. Tabb of Shreveport; a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Benjamin E. Bacon, Jr., Michael P. Bacon, Robert P.A. Bacon, Larry Pledger, F.C. Wardlaw and Clarence Garner.
Memorials may be made to the Kings Highway Christian Church Nursery Fund.
