Charles Murphy, 77 went home to be with the Lord on January 3rd 2022, one of thirteen children of the late George and Myrtle Dalton Murphy. He is preceded in death by seven siblings and survived by one sister and four brothers. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, his best friend and business partner Elizabeth(Liz) Murphy, son Chris Murphy and daughter Charlene Murphy Pickens,(Richard Pickens) grandsons Jadeian and Brenden Pickens, stepsons grandsons Quraan and Shaikeem Pickens and three great grandchildren. Preceded in death by step granddaughter Candace Pickens . He has hundred plus nieces, nephews, and over a thousand cousins. He was an avid fisherman, held two lake records on Lake Keowee, ran MURPH TOURNAMENTS, he won first place in the Fish The Fall 2012 Hartwell, Carolina Anglers Team Trail Lake Champions 2012 Hartwell and many other Championships. Charles was an accomplished bowler and his team won the state Championship. He started and managed the Roses Mens Softball team. Charles attended Etowah Elementary in the eighth grade, gave his teacher his books and told her he knew all that he needed to know and never returned. He set his goals high and set out to achieve what he strived for. He was a professional brick mason working for Gerald Smith and Walter Murphy Masonry, Warlick Sign Service, Free Service and salesman at Sears for 21 years. After leaving Sears he opened up his own business Murphy Home Improvement winning several crystal awards in remodeling throughout the years until his death. Charles was a longtime member of Shaws Creek Baptist Church and attended First Church of Nazarene.

This Community Has Shown the Charles Murphy Family so much love support during this extremely difficult time. Most importantly to friendships and small town love shown to Charles Murphy over the years. He always lived life to the fullest, was always cracking jokes & just being him. He Loved his Town of Hendersonville, North Carolina. We can't express our gratitude enough for all of the love, support & prayers from you all, thank you & God Bless you all! We invite the entire town of Hendersonville NC, Western NC and all of the Fishermen from North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama to Georgia & Florida, etc! Please come join us to say our final farewell to Charles Murphy (MURPH) who was an amazing husband, an awesome Daddy, an incredible Pawpaw & Great Paw-Paw, an amazing brother, an outstanding uncle, a loyal cousin and a friend to everyone he met! Charles was just a small-town Country boy from Hendersonville, North Carolina, The Bass Master, held many Bass big fish or ponds records at many Lakes through the years from 1977-2021. He presently held 2 Keowee Lake records, he was a Bass Fishing Tournament Winner of many Tournaments over the years from 1975-2021, Murphy's Tournaments (Bass Tournaments) & a NC Bowling Champion, a Manger of Ball teams, Ball player, Hunter, Water Ski Skills & Salesmanship in many different Businesses including Sears, Boats, etc! He was the owner of Murphy Home Improvement, a man of many talents and accomplishments throughout the years. We are so proud of him and how hard he worked to make a better life! He came from a family of 13 Siblings with humble beginnings and each worked hard to accomplish great things in their lives as well. The Murphy Family is Strong, Faithful, Family Centered & always Brothers and Sisters. He was so proud of our huge Family and us all individually. He met the love of his life at the age of 18 Elizabeth Murphy. They both worked at Free Service Appliance in Tire Center located in Hendersonville, NC. Later on they Married & had two children Chris Murphy and Charlene Murphy Pickens. They have 5 Grandchildren Jadeian Pickens, Brenden Pickens, Quraan Pickens, Shaikeem Pickens &
Candace Pickens. They also have 3 Great Grandchildren Zachaeus Waters, Amara Pickens & Italy Pickens. Their 59 years together have been full of love, lots of laughter, the best of friends, great business partners and many years of nothing but beautiful memories. We all will always cherish each & every memory forever & we were blessed to have him in our lives! My Daddy was absolutely one of the finest men you could ever meet & as his child I know that I had the best daddy ever! He always made sure his family came first & he took good care of us in every single way! He taught Chris & I so many things over the years such as riding motorcycles, swimming, skiing, tubing, skating, basketball, baseball, boating, racing, fishing, hunting & he taught us how to drive anything on the wheels or not, the craziest sides of life. We are the NC Bowling Champions by his teaching! Most importantly he showed us that his family came first, he showed us love, respect, loyalty, honor, kindness & pure Southern raising! He always showed that we could achieve anything if we set our minds to it, just as he always did for himself. We were always so proud to say our Daddy is Charles Murphy! He definitely loved his family, especially all five of his grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pawpaw was strong in more ways than one. HE TAUGHT EACH ONE OF US TO BE TRUE TO OURSELVES AND ONE ANOTHER. He loved his entire family with all his heart & he definitely loved his town of Hendersonville from one end to the other & I hope y'all can be a part of his final farewell!! We all were blessed in so many different ways to have him & he will definitely always & forever be missed & loved. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten because our love for him will never die & we know one day we will see him in Heaven, one sweet day!

CHARLES MURPHY MEMORIAL BOAT PARADE
Saturday, February 12th, 2022 at 2pm
The starting lineup is at Ingles Grocery Store 6400 Brevard Rd, Etowah, NC 28729. We will run it all the way down to 64 W. to Church Street, to Spartanburg Highway, to the Upward Road exit
where we will end the parade. Everyone is welcome to join us in the parade. We just ask that you please contact us and let us know or just show up that day. If you're planning on being in the parade please be there no later than 1:15pm for the lineup. Any Boats, Cars, Motorcycles, Wagon Trains, Truck Clubs including all Murphy Home Improvement SubContractors that
worked with Murphy Home Improvement throughout the years. All of Restaurants Dad ate or businesses he visited over the years, please we ask that you join us as well! We are also inviting any local businesses to join us to honor Charles Murphy. Our hometown boy & our local business owner, Bass Fisherman, our local country man that was a friend to so many. Please help us to say our final farewell to our Daddy, our Hero Charles Murphy!

Funeral Services at 2pm at Hendersonville First Church Of Nazarene located at 111 N. Washington Street Hendersonville, North Carolina 28739. The burial to follow will be at Shepherds Memorial Park located at 5045 Asheville Highway Hendersonville, NC 28791.
