Lindbergh "Lindy" Hill, 94, of Highland Springs, Va., passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2022. He was the last surviving member of his family of 8 brothers and sisters.
He was preceded in death by his son, Barry Hill.
Coach Hill was a valued Administrator at the Sandston Pool for more than 50 years. He was the head coach of the Highland Springs football team and an active member of the Touchdown Club. Lindy was a proud teacher of Government at Tucker High School before becoming an Assistant Principle. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Lindy was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He was a good man and will be greatly missed, but his legacy of hard work and dedication will live on in those who were lucky enough to know him.

A public visitation will be held Thursday, July 21 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Nelsen Richmond, 4650 South Laburnum Avenue, Richmond, Va. 23231. A graveside service on Friday, July 22 at 1 p.m. at Washington Memorial Park, 6217 Memorial Dr., Sandston, Va. 23150.

FORMER BRAMWELL COACH HONORED IN VA.

Lindy Hill former Bramwell student and later coach, received a special honor last month.
Lindy, a resident of Henrico County, Va., was inducted into the Wall of Fame by Highland Springs High School on October 16. The Wall of Fame honors coaches, players, and patrons who have contributed much to the school and community over the years.
Lindy earned a master's from West Virginia University in 1953. He coached football, basketball and baseball at Bramwell 1954-1956. As a student at Bramwell, Lindy played all three sports. He also played on the professional Blue-Grey basketball team in Bluefield.
In 1957, he moved to Virginia and coached football, basketball and baseball at Warwick High School in Newport News, with Ronnie Hamilton, who coached at Bramwell in the 1940's.
Lindy moved to Henrico County in 1958 and coached at Highland Springs High School until 1972. He left coaching and went into administration as an Assistant Principal at J.R. Tucker High School. He remained there until 1990, when he took early retirement.
In 1984, the Recreation Association of Fairfield, Va., a private membership organization with about 300 families offering all kinds of recreational activities, built a large recreation building for the members' use and for the community. It was named the Hill Building in honor of Lindy for all his years of service. He has been administrator of that organization since 1959.
