Died 3 a.m. Saturday, May 14, 1988, at her residence in Gloster, Miss. She was 86. Visiting at Brown Funeral Home, Gloster, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Religious services at New Hope Protestant Church, Gloster, at 3 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Alton Meggs and the Rev. Carl Rigby. Burial in Roseland Cemetery.
Survived by a daughter, Ottrice Holland, Zachary; four sons, James Bateman, Liberty, Miss., Moselle Bateman, Gloster, Excell Bateman, Natchez, Miss., and Lynus Bateman, Baker; a brother, J.C. Bowman, Clinton; a sister, Birtie Tims, Centreville, Miss.; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
