Lillie Mae May, 93, of Athens, Alabama, passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008, at the Limestone Health Facility in Athens, AL.


Funeral services were held Thursday, January 24, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Ardmore Memorial Funeral Home with burial in the Germantown Cemetery.


Lillie Mae Brown May was born on May 13, 1914, in Athens, Alabama, to George Washington Brown and Sue Ella Hall Brown.


She lived all her life in this area and was a member of the Wooley Springs Church of Christ. She was a member of the long ago Wooley Springs Home Demonstration Club. She enjoyed flower gardening and painting.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor S. May; and son, Harold Dean May.


Survivors include two sons, Billy Wayne May of Taft, TN, and Charles Kenneth May of Athens, AL; a daughter, Sandra Kay May Moore Bartlett of Athens, AL; a brother, Charles Brown of Athens, AL; a sister, Rachel Guinn of Flint, MI; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.


Lillie and Victor May were married July 23, 1932.
