Richard in his younger years enjoyed being a part of the church and being in plays. It was said "he always got the good parts." He also enjoyed boxing. Richard loved to tell his stories of traveling near and far for boxing matches. He later attended school at Bishop Union High School where he graduated with many friends by his side. After high school, Richard went to attend collage at Chico State University.
When he returned to Bishop, he had many jobs that included masonry and working with the tribe. Both of which he enjoyed and would proudly say those were his careers of choice. In his free time he enjoyed several outdoor activities such as fishing, camping, hiking, frisbee, golf, baseball and attending both Inyo and Mono community events.
Richard was a hardworking family-oriented man who loved unconditionally. He was a very caring, selfless and courteous man. There are many words to describe Richard as a person and how great of a man he was.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Richard Barlow Sr. and Agnes N. Bacoch and his brother Daniel Barlow. He is survived by Tulie Rose Barlow, Nakia Nichole Hanks, Elaine Barlow, Jason Barlow as well as numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, other family members and friends. He will be deeply missed by so many.
The family of Richard Barlow Jr. would like to thank the numerous people who have supported and donated to help during this hard time. Aho
A Cry Dance will be held for Richard at the Barlow Residence on Friday, June 24, 2022 beginning at dusk. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 25, 2022 at the Barlow Lane Gym in Bishop, California at 10 a.m.
