Mr. Lashmit died July 9 at Little Traverse Division of Northern Michigan Hospitals.
He was born Jan. 11, 1910 in Winston-Salem, N.C. He moved to Petoskey as a child and attended Petoskey area schools. Mr. Lashmit worked on several farms in the area and later was employed aat Michigan Maple Block and the Tannery in East Bay View. He also worked at Penn Dixie for 27 years, retiring in 1972.
On June 7, 1980 he married the former Donna Bare in Petoskey.
Mr. Lashmit was a member of the Christian Life Center.
Survivors include his wife: four sons, John of Charlevoix, Abe and Elmer , both of Petoskey and Carl of Atlanta, Ga.; nine grandchildren, three step-grandchildren; two brothers Ellis of Cedarburg, Ohio and Paul Lashmit of Mishawaka, Indiana.
The family suggest anyone wishing to honor the memory of Mr. Lashmit, may do so by contributing in his name to the Leukemia Foundation of the Gideon's International.
Arrangements were handled by the Stone Funeral Home.
