Charlotte was the second of six children, and second daughter, of Margaret Mary (Maggie) Jordan and her second husband, Joseph H. (Jack) Harrison. Lottie's siblings were: Alice May (b. 1868), Henry Jordan (b. 1872), Myrtle Jane (b. 1874), Grace Bernice (b. 1875), and Francis Marin (b. 1877). Lottie also had a half brother, Hiram Lewis Curtis (called Edgar, b. 1861) by her mother's first marriage, to Hiram Lewis Curtis. Charlotte's mother died when she was only 9 years old and their father remarried only three months after the death. He and his second wife, Jane Comstock, gave Lottie several more half-siblings: Ephraim (b. 1881), Joseph (b. 1883), Lamaria Elmira (b. 1885), Gilman C. (b. 1888), and William Daniel (b. 1896). Her father's wife, Jane Comstock, was the sister of Lottie's first husband, Daniel Enos Comstock.

At the time of the 1880 census in Diamond Bluff, several months after her mother's death and father's remarriage, Charlotte's family was split up. Only Myrtle and Henry are with their father and new wife in 1880. Lottie is listed as the adopted daughter of Timothy Goggin and his wife, who lived next door to the family with whom her sister Alice lived in 1880. Grace is living with John and Catherine Brewer as their daughter. I have been unable to locate little Frank Marin in an 1880 census.

Charlotte was only 14 years old at the time of her first marriage, on 16 October 1884 in Diamond Bluff, to 26-year-old Daniel Comstock, a plasterer. Daniel died of consumption less than two years later. Charlotte remarried on 10 Nov. 1887 in Chippewa Falls, Iowa to Willard Bloomfield. She was 17 and he 31. At age 20, Charlotte died of consumption, likely contracted from her first husband. She had no known children from either marriage.
