Donald Wayne Lewis, Sr., 91, of Trace Creek Road, Vanceburg, Lewis County, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, April 21, 2022, at Life Care Center of Morehead, Morehead, Kentucky.

He was born February 19, 1931, son of the late James Ralph Lewis and Ethel May Osborne Lewis. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Wayne, Jr. and Charles Christopher, and an infant daughter, Janice Laverne. Also preceding him in death are the mother of his children, Relna Jordan Lewis; five brothers, Sylvester, Oval, Merle, Paul and Robert; and two sisters, Dorothy and Anna Belle.

Mr. Lewis is survived by one son and three daughters: Brenda (Ronnie) Combs of Morehead, KY; Diana (Kevin) Holleran of Lexington, KY; David (Lynn) Lewis of Salt Lick, KY; and Alisa (Neal) Bailey of Morehead, KY; and a daughter-in-law, Patricia Lewis, Vanceburg, KY.

Other survivors include one sister, Easter Dunlap of Fort Wayne, IN; grandchildren: April Adkins, Bryan and Allison Combs, Elizabeth Donato, Josh Powell, Samantha Zuniga, Rosemary Craig and Jacob and Zack Griffith, Sarah Ginn and Rodney Skaggs, Chad and Matthew Holleran, Christy Moore and Tyler Lewis, and Taylor and Todd Bailey; and a host of great and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are the staff of Life Care Center who lovingly cared for him during the past two years.

Mr. Lewis was a jack of all trades, having been an iron worker, a carpenter, a factory worker, a furniture maker and a school bus driver. He was a great story teller, and embellished every one he told. He loved the ladies and always had a twinkle in his eye and a smile on his lips for all of his beloved caretakers at Life Care Center, whom he individually called, "my baby." All that knew him either loved him, feared him, laughed with him or thought he was full of it; often all at the same time. He will be missed terribly for all the quick faceted traits he brought us from one moment to the next.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Pastor Thad Callahan officiating. Burial will follow in Stone Family Cemetery, Scotts Branch, Vanceburg, KY.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer is his adopted brother, Glenn Callahan, his roommate at Life Care Center.

Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2022, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, 400 Fraley Drive, Morehead, KY 40351.
