It did not take long and I found records of a marriage license, church records at the Methodist Church in Brenham and purchased death certificates and started looking for Obituraries and cemeteries records which are all attached to the sources in my records. All of the pieces fell into place. Only this year I discover that George Klehm's mother Augusta Koch is burried in Prairie Lea Cemetery. There is no marker but she is listed on Prairie Lea Cemetery website.
I remember George. He was small and when he lived with us he did yard work. He had a little push mower and he mowed grass. St. Augustine grass did not grow in Brenham. It was mostly Bermuder grass. Which made it possible for him to use his push mower. He would make a little spending money and he loved his beer and alwasys stoped for a beer befor walking home. He sang German songs. I know he always lived with his children after his wife died. I never found his on the 1920 and 1930 census even though all of his children were found. When my father died in 1935, his Obiturary stated George Klehm of Bellville attended the funeral. Aunt Sophie lived in Bellville on the 1930 Census but George wasn't counted with her household. He just did not get counted. He was living in Brenham with my mom when he died in 1946. He had a stroke and went into a coma. He did not linger very long before he died. I remember all of this as well as going to the funeral. He is burried with his wife Bertha Zobel in the Canon Mathis Cemetery in Waller.
