Mr. Birtus Miller, 83, of 236 South Sixth Ave., died Monday afternoon March 16, 1964 at his home.
A son of the late John K. & Elizabeth Swalm Miller, he was a member of the Hebron E.U.B. Church.
He retired fourteen years ago (1950) after operating a grocery store at 236 South Sixth Ave., for twenty-five years. Since his retirement the store has been operated by his daughter, Lillie E., wife of Albert Billingham, with whom he had been residing.
His first wife was the late Edith Eisenhour Miller, who died in March 1917. His second wife, the late Eva Bowman Miller, died in January 1950.
In addition to his daughter Lillie, he is survived by the following eleven children; the Rev. Arthur G. Miller, Lebanon RD4; Irene M., wife of Sterling Kercher, Lebanon; Paul A. Miller, of Lebanon; Leroy S. Miller, Pablo, Calif.; Mrs. Mabel Dowdrick, Annville; Mary L., wife of Solomon Miller, Lebanon; Anna M., wife of Wilbur Dudley, Duncannon; Alice V., wife of Calvin Conners; John B. Miller, and Edith, wife of Junior Rexrode, the latter three all of Lebanon.
Other survivors include 63 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was the last of his immediate family.
Five sons and eight daughters preceded him in death; they were Harry, Jacob, Charles, Richard, Samuel, Naomi, Ida, Bertha, Sally, Pauline, Esther, Grace wife of Joseph Wells, of Lebanon, and Carrie wife of Acie Ellis, of Georgia.
