James Edward DeBord, former Princeville resident and son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeBord of Monica passed away unexpectedly in Los Angeles Tuesday of last week.
A funeral service was held at the home there and then the body was brought back to Princeville where services were held at the Bullock funeral home Tuesday of this week. Rev. A. H. Nothdurft conducted the services assisted by Mr. John Bliss, an uncle of the deceased.
Pallbearers were Fred Jackson, Lee Graves, Frank Graves, Howard Yess, Ralph Gelling and T. E. Murphy. Interment was in the Princeville cemetery.
James Edward DeBord was born in Princeville April 8, 1900 and lived here until he was 22 years old, when he moved to Peoria with his parents. Two years ago he went to California for his health.
He leaves to mourn his departure his wife of Los Angeles; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank DeBord of Monica and three brothers and two sisters. Charles of Toulon, Frank of Deer Creek, Ill., Fred of Morton, Mrs. Fern Gourley of Peoria and Mrs. Mabel Gelling of Monica. One brother, Pearl, and one sister, Mrs. Ola Coburn, preceded him in death.
Mr. DeBord united with the Methodist church when a boy of 14. His last sickness was of a short duration. His kindly and pleasant disposition made him many friends and he will be greatly missed.
