Member of Pioneer Family Dies Here


Lillian Mamie Stuckey, aged 63, of 4758 South Hydraulic, died Saturday morning in a local hospital. A member of a pioneer Wichita family, she was born here June 8, 1887 and had lived in the city all her life.


Active in community and church work, she was a member of the South Broadway Christian church and the farm bureau. For 20 years she was a 4-H club leader in the Riverside community. She was active in the Kansas Children's Service league for 10 years and at one time served on the school board from the Riverside community.


Surviving are her husband, Grover E. Stuckey; a daughter, Geraldine Pouncey of Augusta; a son, Scott, 229 West 55th South; three grandchildren, and three brothers, Frank M. Scott of Warren, Ohio, Minor M. Scott, 1359 South Water, and Charles H. Scott, 418 South Glenn.


Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:30 p. m. at Downlng mortuary with Rev. Ting Champie and Rev. B. W. Thomas officiating. Interment will be in Highland cemetery.
