Grover E. Stuckey, Ex-Wichitan, Dies


A former Wichita area resident, Grover Edward Stuckey, 75, Augusta, Kan., died Sunday at Wesley Hospital.


Funeral services for the retired farmer and one-time Boeing employe will be held at Downing Mortuary at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday with the Rev. Harry H. Cunningham, pastor of Broadway Christian Church, and the Rev. Glendale Norris of Augusta Assembly of God, officiating. Masonic graveside services will be conducted by Wichita Lodge 99 in Highland Cemetery.


Mr. Stuckey, who resided in this area until moving to Augusta 10 years ago, was born on a farm south of Wichita on Jan. 21, 1885. He was a member of Broadway Christian, Wichita, until six months ago, when he transferred to the Assembly of God congregation at Augusta. He was a member of Wichita Masonic Lodge 99, Wichita Consistory and Midian Shrine.


His wife, Lillian, died to 1951.


Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Geraldine Pouncey, Augusta; a son, Scott Stuckey, 4568 S. Hydraulic; a sister, Mrs. Rose Riley, Lamar, Colo.; and five grandchildren.
