Ruth Elaine Worton, 74, of Franklin, passed from this life at 1:34 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Otterbein Senior Life in Franklin.
Mrs. Worton was born September 14, 1947, in Columbus, the daughter of Bryan and Ruth E. McCallie Hamilton.
Ruth retired from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation.
She was a member of Petersville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughter, Amy Labadie of Franklin; grandchildren, Priscilla Percifield, Carter Weaver, Jacob Weaver and Cassidy Watts; great-grandson, Jaxson Demott; sisters, Maryellen (Rick) Pollitt of Hope and Debbie Garrett of Columbus and her stepchildren, Janice Jeffares, Bill Worton, Denice (Kenny) Mitchell, Mike (Shelley) Worton, Joe (Faye) Worton and Joyce (David) Denton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse J. Worton in 2003; parents and a sister, Cynthia Hamilton.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Marcus Speer officiating.
