Wife of Edge William Casteen (son of William Wright and Peggy Anne Murray Casteen). Celie apparently had a son named Joseph "Harley" Griffis who was born on July 24, 1881 in Odum, Georgia. He died on 9-19-1926. He was found dead from unknown causes and buried in Odum, Georgia. According to the 1900 Appling County, Georgia census, the following children are listed: Emma E. Altman, age 14; Ella J. Altman, age 12 and Annie Casteen, age 5 (Celie had been married earler to a Mr. Altman). In the 1910 Appling County, Georgia census the following children are listed: Annie S. Casteen, age 15; William H.Casteen , age 9; Alice I.Casteen, age 4 and Joseph H. Griffis, age 28. According to the 1920 Wayne County, Georgia census, Celie and Edge Casteen had the following children living with them: Harley Griffis, age 38; Annie Casteen,age 25; William Casteen, age 17 and Irene Casteen, age 10.
