John Franklin Holland, age 83, of Mason, Illinois passed away at 11:22 p.m. Saturday, February 26, 2022 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on March 19, 1938 in West Township, Illinois, the son of William and Paula (Beal) Holland. He married Ruth Marie Leppin on July 31, 1960 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Effingham. John was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Effingham. He was baptized and confirmed on July 14, 1960 at Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Congregation of Altamont, Illinois by Pastor Hans F. Bruss. He loved hunting deer, raccoon, and especially mushrooms, doing carpentry work, and spending time with his family and friends. John adored his family more than anything, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Paula Holland; siblings, Helen Elder, Robert Keith Holland, Imogene Conner, Mary Cornwell, Nina "Aunt Dump" Holland, Reba Maxine Rogers, Jacob Holland, Nilan Holland, Bessie Doris Holland, and twins in infancy.

Burial will be at Mahon Cemetery in Mason, Illinois.
